Welcome to Book Club

The Institute for Digital Culture Book Club is a fortnightly literature review group comprised of university academics and heritage professionals from around the world interested in digital culture specifically relating to museology, digital heritage, and computer history. Each month we choose a reading (often nominated by a regular attendee), then come together online, for around 1.5 hours, for a supportive, thoughtful, slow and very collegial discussion. The reading invariable the jumping-off point for a much broader conversation. The sessions have become a wonderful proving ground to test new ideas, to share works in progress and to build towards future research collaboration.
This group began as a small literature review exercise during the of an eighteen-month UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) grant-funded Circuits of Practice research project. It soon grew into something much larger and more enduring. Now, in its fourth year, Book Club is happy to have a permanent home with the Institute for Digital Culture at the University of Leicester.
